The Leonardo AW169 has a large mission capability in the 4.5 tonne twin-engine class. With superior performance, proven technologies and excellent safety features the Leonardo AW169 is one of the most versatile multi role helicopters in theatre, with the unique in class APU mode to ensure total mission readiness.

Design and modification services
Gama Aviation delivers comprehensive Leonardo AW169 design, certification and modification services, combining Part 21J design engineering expertise with operational aviation knowledge. Our capabilities include STC development, mission system integration, cabin reconfiguration, air ambulance interiors, special mission equipment installation, avionics upgrades and aircraft enhancements. We provide end-to-end AW169 solutions from concept and certification through production and embodiment, helping operators maximise capability, compliance, mission effectiveness and aircraft value.
Base, Line and AOG maintenance
Gama Aviation’s Staverton Leonardo Service Centre provides comprehensive AW169 base maintenance, heavy maintenance, inspections, repairs, modifications and aircraft embodiment services. Supporting the UK’s largest AW169 HEMS fleet since 2017, our facility combines experienced B1/B2 engineers, extensive spares holdings, specialist tooling, reliability analysis and rapid return-to-service capabilities for maximum aircraft availability.
Parts
Gama Aviation’s Staverton Leonardo Service Centre maintains a dedicated AW169 parts and spares inventory, supporting rapid aircraft recovery, scheduled maintenance and fleet availability. Backed by established Leonardo supply-chain relationships, extensive component holdings, high stock rotation and specialist procurement expertise, we deliver efficient parts management, reduced downtime and enhanced operational resilience for AW169 operators.

Building on the history and success of the AW139, the AW169 understands and performs in the Oil, Gas and Energy zones.The module cabin design can quickly be re-configurated to accommodate up to 8 passengers or to use the hoisting operation for wind farm operations.
