Gama Aviation recently welcomed leading journalists and editors to Sharjah for two dedicated International Press Day events, offering an exclusive preview of the new Business Aviation Centre (BAC) as it approaches the final stages of construction. Held several weeks apart to accommodate a broad range of international and regional publications, both events were very well attended and reflected strong industry interest in what will become one of the UAE’s most significant new business aviation facilities.

Each day, the objective was clear: to provide trusted members of the aviation press with a first-hand understanding of the project’s scale, purpose, and progress as the BAC prepares to open in early January 2026.

Presenting the vision behind the BAC

Hosted by Tom Murphy, Managing Director FBO Services, and Evie Freeman, Group Director of Client Experience, both events began at the existing Sharjah FBO. Here, Tom provided a comprehensive overview of the thinking behind the project — a purpose-built facility designed from the ground up rather than adapted from existing airport infrastructure. This approach enables Gama Aviation to create a Business Aviation Centre intentionally aligned with the needs of today’s operators, owners and crews.

Tom also highlighted the advantages of Sharjah’s strategic location. Positioned between Downtown Dubai and the Northern Emirates, the airport offers a compelling combination of operational efficiency, agility and excellent connectivity, reinforcing its role as a highly effective gateway for business aviation clients across the region.

Client experience at the core

Following Tom’s briefing, Evie Freeman introduced the Red Thread Academy, Gama Aviation’s programme designed to embed client-first values across the organisation. Her presentation conveyed how the BAC will welcome clients from its first day of operation — with every touchpoint guided by the Red Thread Academy’s focus on attentiveness, elevated service and a deeply personalised experience.

A rare look inside the fast-progressing site

After the morning sessions, the invited press were taken to the Sharjah BAC construction site for an exclusive guided tour. Walking through the developing terminal, hangar complex and client areas, journalists were given a close-up view of the rapid progress being made and the scale of the investment underway.

Across both events, the reaction from attending media was highly positive. Many welcomed the opportunity to explore the facility ahead of completion and have since begun publishing feature articles and commentary across their respective outlets. This independent coverage — spanning business aviation titles and regional UAE publications — reflects the intense interest the project is generating within the sector.

As Tom Murphy explained, “Welcoming the aviation press to Sharjah was an important opportunity to share the scale and purpose of the Business Aviation Centre as it nears completion. The level of interest and the quality of discussion across both events underlined how significant this development is for the region, and we are pleased that the journalists found real value in seeing the progress first-hand.”

Looking ahead to opening

As construction enters its final phase, the Sharjah Business Aviation Centre is poised to become a defining addition to the UAE’s business aviation landscape. Purpose-built, modern and operationally efficient, the facility brings together strategic geography, intelligent design and a client-first service culture to create a new benchmark for business aviation in the region ahead of its opening in early January 2026.
