Gama Aviation has received UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approval to extend its Part 145 maintenance scope to include Learjet 45 and Learjet 60 aircraft, further strengthening the depth and breadth of its UK-based MRO capability.

The approval enables Gama Aviation to deliver line and base maintenance support for Learjet 45 aircraft (40 and 45 variants) and base maintenance support for Learjet 60 aircraft from its Bournemouth MRO facility. This expansion provides Learjet operators, owners and CAMOs with an additional UK-based maintenance option, underpinned by established engineering governance and a compliance-led approach.

What this approval means for Learjet operators

Beyond the regulatory milestone, this approval supports greater planning certainty and operational resilience for Learjet operators seeking dependable maintenance support in the UK. It enables earlier engagement on scheduled maintenance planning, improved continuity of engineering oversight, and access to a facility designed to support business aviation maintenance requirements with minimal disruption to operations.

Paul Kinch, Managing Director MRO and Accountable Manager UK Part 145 at Gama Aviation, commented:How Gama Aviation is setting the standard for predictive, efficient base maintenance 4
“Securing UK CAA approval for Learjet 45 and Learjet 60 maintenance is an important step for our MRO organisation. It reflects the depth of experience within our engineering teams and the strength of our compliance culture. Expanding our Learjet capability allows us to support more operators with the consistency, quality, and confidence they expect from Gama Aviation.”

Bournemouth is home to Gama Aviation’s business aviation MRO operation and is configured to support both scheduled and responsive maintenance inputs. The facility combines experienced engineering teams, appropriate hangar capability and robust internal processes, enabling safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance delivery in line with operator expectations.

This latest approval further broadens the range of aircraft types supported from Bournemouth, reinforcing Gama Aviation’s position as a trusted UK-based maintenance partner for business aviation operators.

Engaging with Gama Aviation MRO

Early engagement is encouraged for operators and aircraft managers planning upcoming maintenance activity, particularly where downtime management, hangar availability and forward scheduling are key considerations. Discussions can include planned base maintenance events, alignment with operational commitments, or the evaluation of UK-based maintenance strategies.
