Gama Aviation has further strengthened its engineering training capability following the award of European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 147 approval to deliver type training for the King Air series.

The approval enables Gama Aviation to provide theoretical and practical training, conduct examinations, and issue certificates of recognition for the Beech 200 and 300 Series (PWC PT6), supporting multiple licence pathways, including B1, B2, and Type C.

Training will be delivered from both Bournemouth and Glasgow, providing greater accessibility for engineers and operators across the UK and reinforcing Gama Aviation’s commitment to developing technical capability in line with fleet demand.

The latest approval reflects continued investment in people, facilities and regulatory capability, ensuring customers have access to high-quality, approved training that supports licence progression while helping operators maintain resilient, future-ready engineering teams.

Paul Kinch, Managing Director MRO, Gama Aviation, said:

How Gama Aviation is setting the standard for predictive, efficient base maintenance 4
“This approval is another important step in the continued development of our maintenance training capability. King Air aircraft remain a cornerstone of many corporate and special mission fleets, and it is essential that operators have access to trusted, high-quality training to support safe and efficient operations.

“Expanding our Part 147 scope aligns with our broader MRO strategy — investing in the infrastructure, expertise and approvals our customers need today, while anticipating the requirements of tomorrow’s fleets. Just as importantly, it strengthens our ability to support engineer development at every stage of their career.”

Renowned for its versatility and reliability, the King Air platform continues to play a vital role across corporate transport, air ambulance, surveillance and other specialist missions. As utilisation remains strong, demand for recognised type training is expected to grow in parallel.

“Achieving this approval demonstrates the depth of expertise within our training organisation and the rigorous standards we apply to every programme we deliver. Our focus is on providing structured, practical training that prepares engineers for the realities of the maintenance environment.

“By offering training in both Bournemouth and Glasgow, we are making it easier for customers to access approved courses while maintaining the quality, consistency and regulatory compliance they expect from Gama Aviation. We look forward to supporting engineers and operators with programmes that build confidence, competence and long-term capability.”

Gama Aviation’s Part 147 training programmes combine classroom-based learning with hands-on practical experience, delivered by instructors with extensive operational knowledge. The organisation continues to evaluate opportunities to expand its training portfolio in response to evolving customer requirements and industry demand.
