Aviation Week TV has returned to Sharjah International Airport to capture a major progress update on Gama Aviation’s new Business Aviation Centre. This purpose-built FBO development is set to reshape business aviation in the UAE upon opening on 15 January 2026.

The new Spotlight video offers viewers an extensive look inside the brand-new FBO site, located adjacent to Gama Aviation’s existing Sharjah facility. Unlike many regional FBOs created through repurposed airport space, the Sharjah Business Aviation Centre has been entirely designed and constructed from the ground up, giving Gama Aviation the rare opportunity to engineer a next-generation client and crew experience from day one.

A purpose-built development designed for the future of business aviation

The video highlights several key elements of the new development, including the emerging VVIP terminal, the new airside layout, and the largest air-conditioned business aviation hangar in the UAE. Each component has been developed to deliver tangible operational benefits, enhanced client comfort and the capacity required to support the continued growth of business aviation across the Middle East.

A VVIP terminal built for privacy, discretion and comfort

The two-storey terminal has been designed to separate arrival and departure flows, create discreet private access routes and offer hospitality-led lounge environments. Every detail — from quiet transitional spaces to the building’s flow — has been shaped to ensure clients experience a calm, seamless and confidential journey.

The UAE’s largest air-conditioned business aviation hangar

As business aviation activity expands across the region, hangar space is increasingly in demand. Sharjah’s new climate-controlled hangar significantly increases available capacity, protects aircraft from high temperatures and supports a broader range of maintenance and operational requirements. For operators, this represents both immediate and long-term value.

A purpose-designed apron for speed and efficiency

The airside layout features self-manoeuvring stands, minimal towing requirements, short taxi distances and rapid access to the runway — all contributing to faster, more predictable turnarounds. Combined with Sharjah International Airport’s zero-slot restrictions, the new apron provides operators with a rare level of operational flexibility in the region.

Dedicated crew facilities that enhance the crew journey

Private rest areas, quiet workspaces, frictionless security processing and direct apron access have all been built into the design to support crews before and between flights. The facilities reflect a clear understanding of crew needs, ensuring comfort, efficiency and the right environment to operate safely and confidently.

As business aviation continues to grow across the Middle East, the Sharjah Business Aviation Centre has been designed to provide the capability, capacity and quality of service required to meet the region’s evolving needs for years to come.
