Gama Aviation was proud to support the departure of the Scotland Men’s National Team as they began their journey to the FIFA World Cup 2026 from the company’s Glasgow FBO.

The departure marked a significant moment for Scottish football, with the national team returning to the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1998. Players, coaches and support staff gathered at Gama Aviation Glasgow before departing for the United States, where Scotland will compete on football’s biggest stage.

The occasion was made even more memorable through a distinctly Scottish send-off. As the team coach arrived at the facility, it was welcomed by a traditional Scottish bagpiper, before a separate group of pipers accompanied the squad from the terminal to the aircraft. Family members and friends were also present to wish the team well and say their farewells before departure.

Behind the scenes, the operation was the culmination of weeks of planning and coordination by the Gama Aviation Glasgow FBO team. Working closely with the Scottish FA and key stakeholders, every aspect of the departure was carefully managed to ensure a smooth and seamless operation from arrival through to take-off.

The squad arrived directly at the Glasgow FBO, where customs and immigration formalities were completed before they proceeded airside to board their aircraft. Following final farewells from family and friends, the team departed on schedule for the start of what Scotland hopes will be a memorable FIFA World Cup campaign.

Daniel Myles, Head of FBOs at Gama Aviation, said:

“From coordinating arrivals and security procedures through to customs, immigration and aircraft departure, every detail was managed to ensure the squad could focus entirely on the journey ahead. It was fantastic to see the players receive such a memorable send-off from family and friends before departing, and I would like to thank the Glasgow FBO team for delivering another outstanding operation. We are incredibly proud that the Scottish FA chose Gama Aviation Glasgow for such an important departure, and we wish the team every success at the FIFA World Cup.”
